Guidelines during  Rhino Tracking at Ziwa Sanctuary

The Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary has established a set of rules and guidelines to ensure the safety and well-being of both visitors and wildlife. Visitors must adhere to these regulations, and failure to comply may result in a $100 fine. The sanctuary guides have the authority to terminate any activity if they believe the rules are being violated. Here are the key rules to follow during your visit:

  • Always follow the instructions given by the sanctuary guides. Feel free to ask them questions about the rules or the animals.
  • Report any illegal wildlife killings you observe along the road to the Rhino Fund Reception.
  • Unauthorized tours are prohibited, especially after 5:30 PM.
  • For the safety of both visitors and animals, feeding or attempting to touch any wildlife is not allowed.
  • Littering is strictly prohibited; dispose of all trash properly in the provided bins.
  • Cycling and jogging are not permitted anywhere within the sanctuary.
  • When entering the sanctuary, declare any firearms, GPS devices, pets, drones, or other items that could raise concerns.
  • To maintain a peaceful environment for the animals, noise must be kept to a minimum. Turn off or silence your phone while near the animals.
