Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Rusizi Town

On this day, you will be transferred from Kigali to the western province of Rwanda, with an optional visit to the Kings Palace Museum in Nyanza. You will then drive to Rusizi by crossing the Nyungwe National Park. Once you arrive in Rusizi, you will check in to your booked hotel, have dinner, and spend the night.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Kahuzi Biega and Return to Kigali.

Eastern Lowland Gorillas, Kahuzi-Biega National Park, Congo, July 9, 2023

On this day, you will have an early morning breakfast and then drive to the border with Congo. You will go through the migration process and continue the drive to Kahuzi-Biega National Park. At the park headquarters, you will register and receive a briefing about the gorilla trekking rules. The trek will take around 2 to 4 hours, depending on the speed limit and location of the gorillas. Once you find them, you will spend an hour observing them and taking pictures. After that, you will return to the starting point, hop on your Jeep, and transfer back to Kigali.
