Detailed Itinerary: 11 Day Big 5 and luxury Beach Holiday Safaris

Day 1: Transfer from Nairobi to Tsavo East National Park

You will be taken from your accommodation or the airport to start your safari. Before beginning a late afternoon game drive, you will arrive at Tsavo East National Park in time for lunch and some free time. It’s well-recognized that Tsavo East offers great game viewing.

Animals that have been sighted include ostriches, gazelles, buffalos, elephants, striped hyenas, kongoni, lesser kudu, oryx, klipspringer, impala, zebras, giraffes, servals, antelopes, and many more. Additionally, you have the opportunity to witness a wide range of native and migratory species, especially from late October to early January.

Day 2: Adventure from Tsavo East to Tsavo West National Park

Following a dawn game drive, you will eat a hearty breakfast before making your way to Tsavo West National Park. You’ll reach your goal just in time for lunch. You will go to the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary in the late afternoon. This 70-square-meter walled area is home to Tsavo’s expanding population of endangered black rhinos, who are just surviving the widespread poaching that drove them into extinction in the 1960s. Following the visit, you’ll go on a game drive to witness giraffes, buffalos, elephants, lions, cheetahs, and more. You will return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay as the sun sets.

Day 3: Explore from Tsavo West National Park to Amboseli National Park

You’ll be set for an early-morning “spicy” game drive once the sun rises. You will travel to Mzima Springs and stroll about to witness tropical vegetation, unusual fish, crocodiles, and hippos. You will also witness a lot of local and migrating bird species on your drive this morning. After checking out of your accommodation and returning for breakfast, you will travel another two hours or so south to Amboseli National Park.

You will unwind after lunch in Amboseli and then depart for your afternoon wildlife drive. Since Amboseli is a small park, finding animals is quick and simple! Mount Kilimanjaro should be seen from a distance on a clear day.

Large families of buffalo, lions, zebras, gazelles, hyenas, giraffes, cheetahs, monkeys, baboons, hippos, and abundant birdlife (up to about 425 species) are among the frequently seen creatures. For dinner and the night, you will go back to your lodge or camp.

Day 4: Amboseli National Park game drive

The Amboseli Game Park is large. It has giraffes, buffalos, wildebeests, zebras, antelopes, and elephants. Today we have two scheduled game drives that will introduce you to the dramatic and overwhelming beauty that this place offers every day.

Under the lush, magnificent African sun, predators prowl the herds of grazing animals, reenacting the age-old tale of life and death. You will head back to the lodge or comfortable camp in the evening for a delicious dinner, cocktails, and a hot bath. You can also choose to go to a Maasai community to experience their dances and discover more about their way of life, but this will incur an additional fee. We will spend the evening and night at Kibo Safari Camp.

Day 5: Transfer from Amboseli National Park to Maasai Mara National Reserve

Leave for the Maasai Mara Game Reserve after eating an early breakfast at your lodge, arriving in time for lunch. Wonders await you on your afternoon game drive in this renowned reserve. There are several animals present, including elephants, buffalos, rhinos, lions, leopards, and cheetahs. Zebra Plains, Mara, is where we will spend the night and dinner.

Day 6: Maasai Mara National Reserve Game drive

Searching for the Mara’s big cats and witnessing the magnificent wildebeest migration will occupy the entire day in the Maasai Mara Game Reserve. Recall to be alert at all times  A thrilling chase, a lone leopard recovering its victim from the tall acacia tree branches, or a troop of elephants shielding their young from predators are all possible sights to see. One of the richest wildlife groups may be found in the Mara. Additionally, it serves as the setting for the magnificent, yearly wildebeest migration. Especially as they pass the Mara River, the migration is regarded as one of nature’s wonders. There are more than 400 species of birds and over 95 species of mammals in the reserve.

In the Mara, seeing wildlife is always exciting, and perseverance is typically rewarded with memorable sightings.

Day 7: Transfer from Masai Mara National Park to Lake Nakuru National Park

You will leave Maasai Mara National Reserve for Lake Nakuru National Park, arriving in time for lunch after eating an early breakfast at your camp. After arriving at the lodge, unwind and have a delicious lunch before going on a game drive in the afternoon.

During your game drive later in the afternoon, you might spot a wide range of birds on the lake as well as a variety of species, such as lions, leopards, white and black rhinos, and more. You will spend the night and eat at Lake Nakuru Lodge.

Day 8: Transfer from Lake Nakuru National Park to Zanzibar Island

After a satisfying breakfast, travel to Nairobi to catch your scheduled flight to Zanzibar. A hotel representative will pick you up when you arrive and drop you off at the Z Hotel, where you will stay on a half-board basis.

Days 9–10: Zanzibar Island

The following days and nights will be spent on the stunning beach. You may unwind and spend the days on the white-sand beaches or in the turquoise waters, making this the ideal way to round off a safari.
