Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport

Welcome to Uganda! Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met and greeted by our friendly and professional driver or guide. He will brief you and take you through your trip plan, then transfer you to your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala for relaxation and dinner. You can relax and enjoy your dinner as you prepare for the upcoming adventure that awaits you.

Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi National Park

You will be picked up in Entebbe and begin the drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the southwest of Uganda. You will have an en-route stop at the equator line for some photographs, and then continue to Mbarara for a lunch stop. You will reach Bwindi in the late afternoon, giving you time to relax at the lodge before heading out for a community walk within one of the Batwa villages.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

You will rise early and have a good breakfast, preparing yourself for a day of trekking, and then make your way to the park headquarters for a briefing. You will then set off into the forest in search of the mountain gorillas of Uganda. The trekking time to find the giant apes is unpredictable and ranges from 2–9 hours, depending on their movements. Once you find them, you will get to spend an hour with them, allowing you to observe these magnificent creatures as they interact with one another. Take some pictures and relish this remarkable experience before heading back to your camp for the evening.

Day 4: Transfer from Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable National Park – Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda

After a satisfying breakfast, embark on a captivating drive to the abode of Rwanda’s majestic mountain gorillas. After crossing the border and reaching Volcanoes National Park, you’ll be warmly welcomed at your lodge, where an enchanting evening escapade awaits at the striking twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo. Upon returning to your lodge for dinner, prepare yourself for the rejuvenating rest ahead.

Day 5: Gorilla trekking within Volcanoes National Park

You will embark on our second gorilla trek of the safari after an energizing breakfast. At park headquarters, you will be briefed on what to expect and then set off in search of one of the habituated groups, with varying trek times depending on their location. Be prepared for steep, slippery climbs in often wet conditions, but don’t worry, it will all be worth it once you catch sight of these gentle giants up close! And when your hour is up with them, reflect on how fortunate you are to experience this not once but twice across two countries. You will then head back through the forest towards your lodge. The evening awaits as we journey to the Ibyiwacu community village, where they’ll share their traditions and beliefs, immersing ourselves in local ways that have been passed down from generation to generation. Day 6: Volcanoes National Park – Kigali and Departure
