Detailed Itinerary: 3-Day Luxury Samburu National Reserve Safari
Day 1: Transfer from Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve
Your three-day safari journey in the Samburu National Reserve will begin this morning. You drive to the northern border of Kenya. Samburu’s arid savannas, irrigated by the magnificent Uaso Nyiro River, are a wild and rugged region of breathtaking beauty. In addition to being home to species only found north of the equator, such as the reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebras, and Beisa oryxes, it is also one of Kenya’s most protected locations. Visitors also appreciate staying at the luxurious Samburu Sopa Lodge, which is situated along the river’s banks beneath a canopy of acacia trees.
Accommodation: Samburu Sopa Lodge or a comparable establishment (luxury, Mid-range)
- Meal Plan: Lunch and Dinner
Day 2: Explore Samburu National Reserve
With a cup of steaming coffee in hand, you begin your day in the woods by sweeping the river from the porch of your tent as dawn breaks in golden bands. Most are out in search of the cheetahs, lions, leopards, and elephants that abound in the reserve’s acacia woodlands and grasslands before the dew has cleared from the grass. Thus, the entire day may be split between exploring the woods and lounging in your comfortable camp.
