Here is a more detailed itinerary for a 7-day trip to Kenya’s Samburu and Masai Mara regions:

Day 1: Nairobi to Samburu

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, you will be transferred to Wilson Airport, where you will take a short flight to Samburu for a three-night stay at the luxurious Saruni Samburu eco-chic villas. Upon arrival in Samburu, you’ll be met by your guide and transferred to your lodge or camp.

Day 2: Samburu

After breakfast, you’ll go on a morning game drive in Samburu National Reserve, where you’ll have a chance to spot more wildlife, such as lions, leopards, and elephants. You’ll then return to your lodge or camp for lunch and an afternoon at leisure. You can relax by the pool or participate in optional activities such as a nature walk or a visit to a Samburu village to learn about their culture. During your stay, you can go on day game drives to explore the Kalama Community Wildlife Conservancy and Samburu National Park to spot rare wildlife like the Samburu Special 5. You can also take night drives in the Kalama Conservancy and go on guided bush walks with Samburu warriors.

After breakfast, you’ll embark on an afternoon game drive in the Samburu National Reserve, which is home to unique wildlife species such as the Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, and Somali ostrich. Day 4: Samburu to Masai Mara

After breakfast, you’ll fly from Samburu to the Saruni Mara, an exclusive boutique lodge in the Masai Mara National Reserve, one of the most famous wildlife reserves in Africa. Upon arrival, you’ll be met by your guide and transferred to your lodge or camp. With just five cottages, one family villa, and one private villa, it is nestled in a secluded valley in Mara North Conservancy, a private wildlife concession next to the Masai Mara National Reserve. During your three-night stay, Maasai warriors will guide you through the area, sharing their knowledge of the wildlife and their way of life. You can go on game drives in Mara North Conservancy, Masai Mara National Reserve, and surrounding conservancies, as well as night drives in Mara North Conservancy. There are also guided bush walks, bird watching, and a warrior.

Day 5: Masai Mara

After an early breakfast, you’ll embark on a morning game drive in Masai Mara, where you’ll have a chance to spot the Big Five (lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos, and rhinos) as well as other wildlife such as cheetahs, hyenas, and giraffes. You can relax or participate in optional activities such as a guided nature walk or a visit to a local market. In the evening, you’ll go on a sunset game drive to spot nocturnal wildlife.

Day 7: Masai Mara to Nairobi

After breakfast on your last morning, you can visit the rhino sanctuary before heading back to Nairobi on a short flight. During the visit, you can admire the hippos and crocodiles in the Mara River. Overall, Saruni Mara offers a unique and unforgettable safari experience. You’ll fly back to Nairobi, where you’ll have some free time to do some last-minute shopping or sightseeing before being transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your flight home.
